Clinical neuroscience has emerged as a pivotal discipline at the intersection of basic neuroscience and clinical medicine, aiming to understand the biological mechanisms of brain function and dysfunction and to translate that knowledge into improved diagnosis, treatment and prevention of neurological and psychiatric disorders. Unlike purely theoretical explorations of the brain, clinical neuroscience is inherently translational, focusing on how discoveries in neural science can be applied to real world patient care and therapeutic innovation.
